Simba's 20th Anniversary and Solstice Celebration
Evening Star Grange, corner Middle Rd and East-West Rd, Dummerston Center, VT
Break out your dancing shoes on Sunday June 21st at the Evening Star Grange in Dummerston, VT. This year's annual Summer Solstice dance party will commemorate Simba's 20th anniversay with an all-star extravaganza, reunion and pot luck. Come early, stay late as we celebrate the first day of summer with music and dance. Potluck starts at 6:30 and dancing starts at 8 pm.
The band Simba was formed 20 years ago to play on the Brattleboro Common to protest and shut down Vermont Yankee. The group called itself "The No Nukes Band" for that event and soon changed its name to Simba, but the message remained the same. All the members live in Southern Vermont and want to preserve a safe and beautiful place to live.
Moonlight Davis, super soul and gospel singer will highlight this special night. Friends and former band members of Simba will join the band onstage for this special event.
