This program is narrated by New England's premier storyteller, Willem Lange. The show includes "Peter and the Wolf" (of course!) and three other intriguing story/music combinations:
• "Wolf School Drop Out," a hilarious "fractured fairy tale" based on "The Three Little Pigs." Written and composed by students from North Country Union High School.
• The exotic tale of Carmen, by French composer Bizet.
• "Odzihozo and the Lake," a musical retelling of an Abenaki creation legend. Written by Vermont composer Derrik Jordan in honor of the Quadricentennial, this performance will include narration by professional Abenaki storyteller Carolyn Hunt (in full regalia) and a spontaneous mural creation by her husband, Rick.
"Play Me a Story" is suitable for grades 1-6; the show lasts 50 minutes; cost is $8 per student; enrollment is handled by the Flynn. Contact Bridget Edwards at bedwards@flynncenter.org.
